Fishing on UNSAFE Ice... (WARNING: DO NOT TRY AT HOME)

The DUMBEST thing I've ever done while fishing... After a stretch of brutally cold days, a massive warm front came through bringing the air temp into the low 60s. Suffering from cabin fever, I grabbed my gear and was determined to catch my first bass of 2017. The only problem was the pond that I had planned to fish wasn't as frozen as I had hoped...

Location: Pond in Ellicott City, Maryland

Date: January 11th, 2017

Primary Pattern: Slowly jigging a waxworm in 4-5 feet of water

Time Fished: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Air Temp: High of 62 degrees, low of 51 degrees

Water Temp: frozen

Water Clarity: 30 inches

Conditions: Mostly cloudy with winds from the S up to 5 mph
