3" senko - drop shot rig, split shot rig (finesse spinning tackle, 6'6" medium light rod 10 lb braid, 6 lb fluorocarbon, size 1 finesse split shot hook)
4" - creeks, rivers, ponds (spinning tackle, 6' 6" medium light or medium rod, 10-15 lb braid, 6-8 lb mono or fluoro, texas rig - 2/0 ewg hook or wacky rig 1/0 finesse split shot hook)
5" - most versatile, effective in almost all scenarios (spinning or baitcasting tackle, 6'6" medium or medium heavy rod, 15-30 lb braid, 12-15 lb mono or fluoro, texas rig - 3/0 or 4/0 ewg hook or wacky rig - 2/0 finesse split shot hook)
6" - targeting bigger than average-size bass - good tournament bait for culling smaller bass (baitcasting tackle, 7' medium heavy rod, 30-40 lb braid, 15-20 lb mono or fluoro, texas rig - 5/0 ewg hook or wacky rig - 3/0 or 4/0 finesse split shot hook)

best knot - palomar
Effective in water temperatures 55 degrees and up
Ideal conditions - around vegetation, clear water
Where not to use the bait - muddy water
1rod1reel's go-to colors - stained water - black
lightly stained to clearish water - green pumpkin or green pumpkin magic
clear water - watermelon red or translucent colors
fun fact - Gary Yamamoto originally created the senko as a soft-plastic jerkbait like the zoom fluke or slug-go. Anglers quickly figured out that the senko was most effectively fished as a "do-nothing" bait and was accepted as a plastic worm
