Foul Hooked Shark pulls close to 1000yds

We were fishing from the beach in Florida, hoping to catch a monster. Within less than a hour, something was messing with Peter's bait. The fish took off and Peter harnessed up. We thought that Peter had hooked a big shark, possibly over 13ft. It took nearly 1000yds of line before he stopped it. It turned out to be a foul-hooked estimated 10ft hammerhead shark. We quickly removed the hook and released the shark.
