Blacktip Shark Caught from Shore

During the blacktip migration, my good friend Howard and I went shark fishing on the beach. Howard hooked a large shark which nearly spooled his fishing reel. After a short fight, we landed the blacktip shark on shore, removed the hook, tagged, measured and released the animal back into the ocean.

Leader --- 7+ft rig with 15" of #9 single strand wire and 6ft of 400lb mono shock leader.
