Day 2 fishing in Alabama. After catching a 6 lber and a new personal best bass at 7.5 lbs the day before, I couldn't wait to get back out on the lake!!! The conditions were tricky, with heavy rains throughout the entire morning, but the bite looked promising when Stephen caught a 5 lber on a frog first thing in the morning! Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse after that, including lost fish and long hours between bites, but hey, if fishing was always easy, then it wouldn't be fun right?

Date: April 14th, 2016

Primary Pattern: Started the day off shallow fishing frogs. Landed 1 fish, missed 4 bites total. After the topwater bite failed we tried falling back to what worked the day before, weightless lizards on the west bank. No luck either but we finally caught a couple fish targeting fish offshore in stump fields or brush piles. The highlight of the day was at one particular series of cypress trees, I hooked into what I felt was easily a 10+ lber... That somehow threw the hook. That's how it always goes right, the big ones always find a way to get away, but it's those fish that keep us coming back for more!
