Combo Used: Shimano Antares DC (40 lb suffix 832 braid) with g loomis 6' 6" MH/Fast mbr 783C

recommended gear - 7' MH rod + baitcasting reel (high speed gear ratio for surfing dat bass outta the slop) + 40 - 65 lb braided line

tips - If a bass blows up on your frog and misses, have a second rod ready with a soft plastic like a senko and throw to the exact spot where the bass blew up. 50% of the time you can get that bass to bite again.

-If you need increased casting distance, fill your frog up with water by holding it underwater and squeezing it. If you notice your frog is sinking, hold it out of the water and squeeze to remove excess water. -Add internal rattles to increase weight and disturbance.

-Trim long skirts if you notice too many missed strikes.

-If you have a problem setting the hook too early and missing fish, try retrieving the bait with your rod tip up. When you get a bite you'll be forced to take a split second to drop the rod tip down before you set the hook.

effective water temps - 70+ degrees

effective colors - white bottom - sunny days/clear water, black bottom cloudy days/murky water

ideal conditions - 1 to 4 feet of water, winds less than 5 mph, cloudy or sunny can both be effective to throw a frog

hookset - strong vertical hookset

retrieval - slow: twitch-pause-twitch-pause, constant - twitch-twitch-twitch, erratic - twitch-pause-twitch-twitch-pause-twitch-twitch-twitch-pause

where not to use the bait - deep water, open water devoid of vegetation/structure
